... goldencharm and I went to Auchinawa, Scotland's first J-culture convention, and man, it was teeming with cosplayers. XD
I saw quite a few Final Fantasy chars, some KingdomHearts, Ebony the Cat from STC ( yes, it was ME who went up to you and said "Ebonyyyy!" in a blatant Scottish accent ) alongside Blaze, Amy Rose, astrima's UV NiGHTS costume ( of course XD ), an awesome Edward Scissorhands, Ashram from Lodoss ( tell me I'm spelling that right! ), a couple of Edward Elrics, and a whole bunch of other things. Makes me wish I'd went there the whole time instead of just over the weekend, but oh well. XD
The general atmosphere of the place was quite relaxed, there wasn't any chaos and confusion, and the place wasn't too packed. Getting around was easy if you didn't mind running up and down the stairs. I met the infamous Curly Dave, GC's uni pal and guy who guaranteed our admission to the event ( kudos, Dave! ) for the first time, and found out that he indeed is a funny guy. And that GC owes him a fiver after he bet him to start singing before the Masquerade. XD
Speaking of which, damn that room for being so dark! It was impossible for me to get any good photographs there of the costumes, though I tried. I'll maybe throw some up somewhere like Photobucket if I can get to an uncle's PC, as mine won't read the camera's memory card.
I spent a lot of time going "I'm scared of that mirror" in the hallway of the first floor. Because it was BIG AND BULKY and looked like it was made of solid brass or the like. I was paranoid that it would fall on me. The chandellires ( sp ) too. XD
The screening room turned out to be a laugh. GC and I went in on Saturday to see what was being shown, getting treated to the first episode of Astroboy.
To put it short, there was no second episode shown. Only maybe one person in the crowd could stomach it. XD So we watched Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged series instead. Fair trade if you ask me. XD
We spent a worryingly high ammount of time in the bar ( NOT drinking! XD ), to which we were accosted by the RICHEST MAN IN SWEDEN. *snortlaugh*
I was doodling some random Sonic pic, when this old guy came up and sat across from us and started saying stuff like:
"Hello, my name is [insert something uncomprehensible here] and I have a problem."
"I have problems."
"I have lots of money. Infact I think I am very r... I am probably the richest man in Sweden."
"I have lots of gold *jingles watch that looked silver to me*."
"I love the Scottish. They are so very helpful and friendly ( *howls in laughter* XD )."
"I love you."
"Are you angry?"
"My company has made me very rich. I am the richest man in Sweden. My name is [honestly, what is he saying here?]."
"Are you a communist?"
"I am a communist. It made me rich. I have lots of pretty ladies in my company( *backs away slowly* D8 )."
"I buy your picture for one pound!"
"Two pound!"
"I am very rich."
We eventually ran away, very scared. XD
Then we returned later and met up with salemnorongachi, astrima and Digi7777 and had an, um, fun chat. Well, it was fun for GC and I. I thing Salem utterly TERRIFIED DiGi and TRiPPY. He also claimed that her hat reminded him of an ex-girlfriend. Yes. XD
Ah, it was a fun night.
Oh, yeah, there was Sunday, too. XD
We didn't really do much on Sunday. Just stoated about the floors for a while, watched some things in the screening room, then sat in the bar untill the closing ceremony, which was pretty good.
Then we sat up at Buchanan bus station for a while waiting for DiGi and TRiPPY's bus home to arrive, wondered why there was a bus going to Glasgow in Glasgow, and why it left still saying it was going to Glasgow. Scowled at GC and his praisings about hot chocolate whilst the rest of us shivered, and traded some sketches.
Oh, yeah, we also got discounted goods at Millie's Cookies just for having an Auchi pass. yum yum yum... 8D
In conclusion, much fun was had, and I hope that there's another Auchi some day. And I also hope Salem hasn't given our Edinburgh friends a phobia of Glasgow... XD
I also hope that the masquerade at said next Auchi, should it exist, is held in a room with better lighting, too. >.O

Art Tumblr
I don't know if anybody still checks here for my art, but for the most part I upload to Tumblr these days. Nooot super frequently as real life tends to get in the way of productivity, but you know how it is, haha.
But I thought I would let folk know incase they were wondering where I'd disappeared off to!
Azulla-art on Tumblr

Juuuuust kicking that old journal off the main page. *lol*
I haven't been around here much, have I? D:
Well, no, I have, I just haven't been posting/faving/whatever the thing is that we do around here. Mixture of distractions, laziness, computer deaths, and probably Tumblr are all to blame, methinks. XD
Not sure what my upload rate will be these days, as I do have that massive on and off art block that I'm still battling. So many unfinished works! I barely get past the sketch phase before the muse goes 'off on a trip to Coatbridge, see you later!' and doesn't come back for weeks. Then when it does, it's usually in the form of stumbling dru
Devious Journal Entry
*yaaawns* God, I'm tired...
I made it back from Auchinawa, which was held over in sunny(!) Edinburgh a few hours ago and feel a little worn out from the mayhem. XD
I'll try and write up something tomorrow, after I'm rested.
Untill then, you get this:

Edinburgh Bus Adventures
feat. Two hapless Glaswegians trying to navigate the Edinburgh bus system.
- Act 1: Why are you giving me that glazed-eyes look, Driver, we just want our tickets D: ... oh, right, over by the stairs... Not, y'know, behind the cash insert where they usually are back home. XD
- Act 2: Why is our bus going in the wrong direction?! D:
- Act 3: Getting off 3 stop
Rah rah rah
Best month of the year has come again, and with it an excuse to draw hideous beasties and creepy crawlies. :D I love October.
...not that I need the excuse to do it anyway, but it helps. XD
Now if I could just get to the drawing part of that statement. *laughs* I'm being kept well and truly busy right now with that Squiby graveyard hunt thingamabob, BUT I SHALL PREVAIL.
Speaking of drawing, I'm going to jump on the MURO bandwagon and say 'draw something in the replies!'. :D
( Note that it doesn't seem to work for everyone right now, so take a screenshot or something of your doodle before you send, just incase! )
...
